Bio

Danielle Doerfler, Director of Athletics at Fontbonne University, named Nathan Mosby as the new Esports Head Coach.

"We are looking forward to welcoming Nathan Mosby to our Fontbonne Athletics staff as the leader of our Esports program," shared Doerfler. "Nathan is excited about the opportunity to recruit for three games (Valorant, Rocket League, and League of Legends) and continue to grow and develop our gaming presence in the STL community.

"He is well-connected, having played at Maryville University, as a team captain and club president of Maryville Gaming Club. Nathan is the perfect face, voice, and direction for our program, and we look forward to him staying on to develop this team," she added.

Mosby comes to Fontbonne after spending four years as the Team Captain of the Maryville University League of Legends Esports program.

"I'm committed to the development of Esports in St. Louis," stated Mosby. "I think emphasizing the connection to Maryville Esports will help spread the word online as well."

In August of 2022, Mosby was announced as the Club President of the Maryville Gaming Club. He planned and hosted events ranging from 20 to 100 people. He interviewed and hired new members for the executive board, led team meetings, delegated tasks, and ensured that deadlines were met across multiple projects. He also engaged with social media channels, generated new content ideas, and had interviews with local and virtual news stations.

As an athlete at Maryville, he developed strong systems-based learning objectives in daily practice. In addition, he managed a group of 20 athletes to complete work by deadlines and trained and integrated incoming students with existing Maryville programs.

During the summer of 2022, Mosby volunteered at the Fair Saint Louis: Gateway Legends. He was a student and player consultant for the Invitational, which was an Esports tournament with 100 competitors and approximately 1,000 spectators at Ballpark Village. In addition, he also volunteers by doing high school leadership workshops where he visits high schools and provides leadership and coaching workshops to their Esports rosters. Some of the schools he has worked with were Fox HS, Francis Howell Central HS, Saint Louis University HS, Parkway West HS, and Hickman HS.

Mosby is a graduate of Maryville University, earning his Bachelor's in Strategic Communication.

His start date will be June 26.
