September 2019 - The Fontbonne University baseball team took part once again in helping with the Pedal the Cause event at the Chesterfield Amphtitheater.
The Mission of Pedal the Cause to provide critical funding for cancer research at Siteman Cancer Center and Siteman Kids at St. Louis Children's Hospital through our annual cycling challenge. It is our hope that research funded by Pedal the Cause will ultimately lead to a cure for cancer.
Founded in 2009 with the bold model of using 100% of public donations to fund world-class cancer research, Pedal the Cause has quickly become the gateway to curing cancer – all cancers, for everyone. In this period of diminished federal funding where support typically gets funneled to already proven concepts, many potential new ideas are not deemed eligible. Pedal the Cause donations "seed" best-in-breed ideas at our beneficiaries to allow the cultivation of proof of concept and critical data. These seeded projects often turn into groundbreaking results that lead to new treatments and cures, preventions, and early detection diagnostics. Additionally, donations from Pedal the Cause make a positive economic impact in the St. Louis community as stronger research funding will continue to support this high profile and critically important segment of the St. Louis economy.
September 2019 - On Sunday, the Fontbonne University softball, women's volleyball, and men's volleyball teams went out to Washington High School to team up with Special Olympics Missouri on their flag football tournament.
Fontbonne student-athletes helped run the event by marking downs, keeping score, assisting referees, passing out medals, and being event support in general. Upcoming Special Olympics events include soccer, bowling, and basketball with the winter months approaching.

The group unloaded the truck full of trees and placed them on display for the seventh straight year. This is the 67th year of the tree lot operation and every dollar raised will provide critical early intervention services to children 0-3 years old with significant visual impairments, and provide group programs for children 3-18.
The DGC also provides family support services connecting its families with needed resources, transportation, clothing, food, education and advocacy. They also conduct vision screenings and strive to increase ability awareness in the community.
October 2018 - The Fontbonne University baseball team took part in helping with the Pedal the Cause event at the Chesterfield Amphitheater.

April 2017 - Fontbonne University men's and women's soccer programs gave back to the St. Louis soccer community by volunteering for the Special Needs Soccer Association (SPENSA). Boys and girls with ages 5-21 come to the World Wide Technology Soccer Park on Saturday mornings to play games, practice drills, and have fun with volunteers from local soccer teams. The volunteers are matched up with a SPENSA player and then have the opportunity to work on skills like passing, dribbling, and shooting. Both the children and volunteers have a great time learning about soccer and each other.
This is Fontbonne's second year volunteering with SPENSA. It's a rewarding community service experience that Fontbonne players hope to repeat year after year.
SPENSA is a non-profit organization is St. Louis that provides an opportunity for disabled children and young adults to play soccer.
