Fontbonne soccer serves at SPENSA
St. Louis, Mo. - On Saturday April 8th, Fontbonne University men's and women's soccer programs gave back to the St. Louis soccer community by volunteering for the Special Needs Soccer Association (SPENSA). Boys and girls with ages 5-21 come to the World Wide Technology Soccer Park on Saturday mornings to play games, practice drills, and have fun with volunteers from local soccer teams. The volunteers are matched up with a SPENSA player and then have the opportunity to work on skills like passing, dribbling, and shooting. Both the children and volunteers have a great time learning about soccer and each other.
This is Fontbonne's second year volunteering with SPENSA. It's a rewarding community service experience that Fontbonne players hope to repeat year after year.
SPENSA is a non-profit organization is St. Louis that provides an opportunity for disabled children and young adults to play soccer.
