ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) announced Rylee Stafford and Anthony Jones swept SLIAC Women's and Men's Player of the Week honors.
Stafford, a Jackson, Mo., native, wins the award for the second time this year after averaging 22.0 points per game on a 53.6 field goal percentage. She also pulled down 5.5 rebounds per game. Against Eureka, she tied her season-high with 24 points in the 73-62 win over the Red Devils on Saturday. On the year, she's averaging 14.5 points on a 38.1 field goal percentage.
Jones, a Wentzville, Mo., native, picks up the honor for the first time this year after averaging a team-high 30.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game in the Griffins two come-from-behind wins against Spalding and Eureka. His breakout game was against the Red Devils where he posted a career-high 42 points on 15-of-22 shooting. He forced overtime with a half-court buzzer beater. He's now averaging a career-high 15.6 points on a 55.9 field goal percentage.
Both teams are back in action this Wednesday at Westminster.
