Fontbonne posted 28 runs on 30 hits in sweep of the Eagles. Greenway homered twice on his way to 10 RBI's. Ethan Boyer recorded seven RBI's while Brett Lange recorded his first collegiate win on the mound.

St. Louis, Mo. - Fontbonne baseball picked up two wins tonight in a 14-3 and 14-4 eight-inning stomping of Robert Morris-Springfield (RMU). Fontbonne scored 28 runs on 30 hits and seven walks. The Griffins have now won four games in a row as they sit 10-13 overall. Fontbonne will travel across the road Saturday in a Wydown Showdown doubleheader against Washington University starting at noon.
Game one
After scoring two runs in the first, Fontbonne found themselves struggling in the second inning, committing two errors to allow RMU back into the game. The Griffins added another two in the bottom half of the inning to lead 4-2. After a single run in the third, Fontbonne posted nine runs in the fifth.
Ben Greenway and Ethan Boyer led the Griffins at the plate. Greenway homered twice and doubled in the first game before totaling seven RBI's. Boyer went two-of-three with three RBI's. Also doubling in the game were Patrick Shuff, Devon Tolan and Nick Kenny. Only one Griffin struck out in the first game while Fontbonne's three pitchers totaled 10 strikeouts. Vince Santarsiero got the start and struck out four in his two innings of work while Austin Earnest recorded the win after striking out four over three innings. He allowed just one hit and zero runs on the mound. Joey Clemente finished out the final two frames with two strikeouts.
Game two
After scoring five runs in the second, Fontbonne's offense fizzled as the Griffins didn't score again until the sixth inning. Fontbonne led 8-2 and tried to put the game away early but RMU wasn't backing down. The Eagles tripled with two outs and two on to cut their deficit to four. Fontbonne answered with two runs in the seventh, put the game away early in the eighth. The Griffins scored three runs before the first out and won on an Aaron Boyer single to right field that drove in Steve Belovich.
Logan Mueth hit three of his four attempts, recorded one RBI, walked once and scored three runs. Each of the Boyer brothers stole a base and Mueth and Zach Carel each doubled. Ethan Boyer recorded four RBI's on two-of-four at the plate. Greenway recorded three RBI's to finish with 10 total. Ethan Boyer rallied for seven on the nightcap.
A sleu of Griffins pitched this round as well with Brendon Beck getting the start. Beck struck out three in two innings without allowing a run. Tyler Scott relieved the freshman for two innings before another freshman, Brett Lange went to the mound. Lange earned his first win after pitching three innings and striking out six Eagles. Alex Coggins finished off the eighth inning for the Griffins with a flyout and two popups.
Overall, Fontbonne's seven pitchers totaled 20 strikeouts across 15 innings.
