Hoevelmann named SLIAC Hitter of the Week
Sophomore third baseman Jonathan Hoevelmann averaged .800 over three games last week to earn SLIAC Hitter of the Week.
St. Louis, Mo. - Fontbonne University sophomore Jonathan Hoevelmann is this week's St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week.
Hoevelmann, who played third base during all three games against Westminster College, averaged .800, going 12-15 at the plate.
The St. Louis native taliied seven runs scored, four runs batted in, two doubles and a triple as the Griffins scored 41 runs in their series divisional win against the Blue Jays.
Fontbonne lost to Westminster 14-10 in game one but defeated the Blue Jays 11-6 and 20-12 in games two and three. At Westminster, the Griffins recorded 27 hits in their 20-12 victory, the team's highest number of hits since the 2008 season.
Fontbonne is back in action Tuesday in a non-conference contest at Missouri S&T. The Griffins are then on the road at Iowa Wesleyan, returning to St. Louis to host Principia on Tuesday, April 25th.
