Griffins drop both games during Webster doubleheader; look ahead to Sunday
Despite losing both games 5-0 Saturday afternoon at Webster University, the Griffins still have a chance to make it to the SLIAC Tournament if they defeat the Gorloks Sunday and if Westminster loses to Eureka.

Sauget, Ill. - Fontbonne University baseball dropped both games 5-0 today in their doubleheader at Webster University.Webster has already solidified a spot in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament, but the Griffins and Westminster College are competing for the second slot from within the West Division.
If Fontbonne defeats Webster and Westminster falls to Eureka, the Griffins and Blue Jays will both hold 13-9 conference records. Fontbonne would win the tie-breaker and advance to the SLIAC Tournament as they won two of the three games in the series matchup.
Fontbonne was able to secure six hits in the opening seven-inning contest between the two Big Bend rivals as Josh Fleming was on the mound. Fleming leads the conference with a 0.47 earned run average. Webster won the game on a pickoff at second base.
In game two, the Griffins were held to just two hits, one each from Ben Greenway and Matt Tossick as Webster's Kyle Uhrich struck out nine Griffins.
On the day, Greenway went four-for-six as he also earned the only walk for the Griffins. Michael Golich went two-for-three in game one.
Fontbonne hosts Webster in their final game of the regular season at noon on Sunday, April 7.
