The Griffins totaled seven hits and were led by Michael Golich going 2-for-4 with a run scored. Gus Purschke added a hit and led in the RBI department with two. On the bump, starter Brian Wacha took the loss after going 4.0 innings, allowing two earned runs and striking out two.
Westminster, meanwhile, scored at least one run in the first five innings. The No. 1-4 hitters in Nick Bohlmann, Blake Strebler, Mason Price and Ryan Clavin combined to go 9-for-16 with five RBI and seven runs scored.
On the mound, Skyler Dickneite picked up his third win on the season as he went 6.0 innings and struck out six.
Heading into the bottom of the fourth, the Blue Jays were on top 3-0. In that inning, they scored three runs on three hits, capped off by Clavin's two-run homer to make it a 6-0 game.
Fontbonne went on to cut into that lead in the fifth. Deiydon Rushing led off with a single and later advanced to second on Golich's single. After a wild-pitch, the duo scored on Purschke's single up the middle.
However, in the home half, the Blue Jays answered with four more runs on four hits and that extended its lead out to 10-2. Each team added a run in the eighth but Westminster was able to go on for the 8-run win.
The Griffins close out its season this Saturday at home against Greenville on Senior Day. First-pitch at 1 p.m.
