Game One
Score: Greenville 1, Fontbonne 0
Location: Greenville, Ill.
Records: Greenville 14-7 (6-0 SLIAC), Fontbonne 14-5 (1-2 SLIAC)
How It Happened
It was a scoreless game up until the bottom of the third. Ryan Taylor got things started with a one out triple to left and he scored on a wild pitch to make it a 1-0 game.
In the fifth, the Griffins threatened with Matt Tossick leading off with a walk. Three batters later, Jonathan Hoevelmann hit a single which moved Tossick over to third. However, starter Jonah Moore got out of the jam to keep Fontbonne off the board.
From there, Moore was able to hold the Griffins scoreless to secure the one-run win.
Fontbonne Notables
- Luke Summers fell to 5-2 on the year after allowing one run on four hits and striking out five.
- Hoevelmann had the lone hit.
Greenville Notables
- Starter Moore dealt his first shutout on the year and struck out a season-high nine.
- Sam Hodges led with two hits.

Records: Greenville 15-7 (7-0 SLIAC), Fontbonne 14-6 (1-3 SLIAC)
How It Happened
In the bottom of the first, the Panthers plated four runs on three hits to gain the early advantage over the Griffins.
In the fourth, the Panthers extended it out to 6-0 on Noah Casali's leadoff homer and Andrew Torbeck's RBI triple that scored Adam Lamb, who reached base on a two out walk.
After scoring three more runs to make it 9-0, the Griffins got on the board in the seventh. Matt Manint reached base on a throwing error and moved up a base on a groundout. He went on to score on Hoevelmann's RBI single.
The team tacked on another run in the eighth on an RBI groundout from Michael Puckett, Jr., but the comeback was not to be with the Panthers winning by seven.
Fontbonne Notables
- Starter Alex Phillips dropped his first on the year allowing six runs (four earned) on seven hits and striking out four.
- Mike Jacobson and Jake Jump combined for eight strikeouts the final 4.0 innings.
- Hoevelmann extended his hitting streak out to nine after going 2-for-4.
- Jackson Penrod, Jack Little, Puckett, Jr., and Tyler Grimes had one hit each.
Greenville Notables
- Logan Murphy picked up his fourth win on the season after allowing just four hits in 5.2 innings of work.
- The 1-2 hitters of Ryan Taylor and Adam Lamb combined to go 5-for-9 with five runs scored.
- The 3-5 hitters of Andrew Torbeck, Sam Hodges, and Ty Maxie contributed one hit and one RBI each.
