ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Fontbonne University baseball team collected a split against Greenville today falling 10-3 in game one but winning game two, 12-8.

ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Fontbonne University baseball team collected a split against Greenville today falling 10-3 in game one but winning game two, 12-8.
Game One Recap
The Griffins opened with a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third. After Greenville tied it in the fourth, the Griffins took a 3-2 advantage on Grant Staffen's first home run on the season.
However, the Panthers scored five in the fifth, one in the sixth, and two in the seventh en route to the seven-run victory.
Fontbonne Leaders
- Colby Shivers led going 2-for-3 with a run scored.
- Braeden Dobbs, Matt Manint, and Staffen added an RBI each.
- Luke Summers suffered the loss going 5.1 innings, allowing eight runs (three earned) and sitting down four. He's just three strikeouts away from becoming the SLIAC all-time strikeout leader.
Game Two Recap
The Griffins grabbed a 3-0 lead in the first getting RBI from Thomas Purschke, Ty Kueper, and Kameron Brooks.
After the Panthers trimmed the deficit down to 3-2, the Griffins offense exploded for six runs in the fourth with Daniel Youngblood (two), Dobbs, Purschke, Ty Kueper, and Paul Wilson all bringing home at least one RBI for the 9-2 lead.
Greenville kept hanging around narrowing the lead down to 9-7 in the top of the eighth, but three more runs in the home half, highlighted by Youngblood's solo shot lifted them to the 12-8 victory.
Fontbonne Leaders
- Ty Kueper had his first four hit day going 4-for-4 with four RBI.
- Youngblood ended the night going 3-for-5 with three runs scored and three RBI. He's now up to six homers and 36 RBI on the season.
- Thomas Purschke went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBI, while Dobbs went 2-for-3 with three runs scored of his own.
- Brooks went 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI.
- Ryan Howell got the win going 6.0 innings, allowing one run and sitting down three.
- Mike Jacobson earned his second save on the season.
