Fontbonne Baseball Takes Series From Blue Jays After Game Four Victory
FULTON, Mo.—The Fontbonne University baseball team came away with the series win against Westminster on Sunday falling in game three 2-0 but bounced back with a 4-1 victory in the finale.

FULTON, Mo.—The Fontbonne University baseball team came away with the series win against Westminster on Sunday falling in game three 2-0 but bounced back with a 4-1 victory in the finale.

How it Happened
The Blue Jays grabbed a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second on Parker Schneider's RBI single. In the fourth, the Blue Jays made it a 2-0 contest on Derek Shikles solo shot.
Westminster starter Andrew Boessen held Fontbonne to four hits overall and was able to go on for the shutout win.
Fontbonne Leaders
- Braeden Dobbs led going 2-for-3.
- Lane Smith and Colby Shivers added the other hits.
- Nick Glaser fell to 2-2 going the distance allowing two runs on five hits and striking out three.

How it Happened
It was a scoreless game up until the fourth when Tyler Chambliss sacrifice-fly scored Daniel Youngblood, who led off with a double, giving Fontbonne the 1-0 lead.
In the next half inning for the Griffins, the team extended its lead out to 2-0 on Carter Lee hitting his third homer on the weekend to start the fifth off.
Fontbonne added two more runs in the inning on a balk and an error extending the advantage out to 4-0.
The Blue Jays got on the board in the seventh but despite loading up the bases in the ninth Tyson Wilson got the final batter to fly-out securing the series win for Fontbonne.
Fontbonne Leaders
- Chambliss led with two RBI.
- Shivers, Youngblood, Kameron Brooks, Lee, and Trey Kueper had one hit each.
- Derek Morganthaler got his fifth win on the season going 6.0 innings, allowing one run and striking out four.
- Tyson Wilson earned his first save striking out two over 3.0 innings of work.
