Game Breakdown
It was a scoreless game up until the bottom of the second when the Griffins committed back-to-back errors to start the inning.
After a strikeout and a hit-by-pitch, the Lynx got on the board on Ben Wilson's two RBI double to left center. From there, the Lynx tacked on five more runs taking a 7-0 lead.
In the fourth, the Griffins got on the board. Ty Kueper worked a one out walk and advanced up to third on a single by Matt Manint. Ty Kueper came on home on a wild pitch cutting the deficit to 7-1.
Fontbonne made it a 7-2 game in the fifth when Ty Kueper was hit-by-pitch with the bases loaded allowing Eric Creech to score, who led off with a walk. In the bottom half of the fifth, though the Lynx brought home three more runs on two hits extending its lead back out to 10-2.
Fontbonne kept battling in the seventh with Colby Shivers leading off with a walk. Daniel Youngblood stepped in and singled putting runners on the corners. Braeden Dobbs kept the line moving with a single to right plating Shivers.
After a strikeout and a wild pitch, pinch-hitter Reese Harris came through with a two RBI single up the middle cutting the Lynx lead to 10-5.
However, the Lynx scored two more runs in the bottom half and were able to secure the six-run victory.
Fontbonne Leaders
- Daniel Youngblood, Reese Harris, and Matt Manint led with two hits each.
- Harris had a team-high two RBI.
- Ty Kueper, Manint, and Dobbs tallied one RBI each.
- Starter Nick Glaser took the tough loss going 4.2 innings, allowing 10 runs (zero earned) and striking out five.
- Jake Jump and David Howard combined for 3.1 innings pitched and four strikeouts.

The Griffins return to the diamond tomorrow morning at 10 a.m., against Concordia Chicago.
