Game Breakdown
In the first inning, the Golden Eagles this time around took a 1-0 lead on a Jacob Spanyer double to left. Spalding extended its lead out to 2-0 in the fourth on Cameron Spencer's RBI single that brought home Matthew Mcdowell who led off with a triple.
In the eighth, the Griffins got one of the runs back with Carter Lee and Braeden Dobbs each reaching base on back-to-back singles. Daniel Youngblood worked a walk and loaded them up for Matt Helm who flew out to right allowing Lee to score.
In the home half, though the Golden Eagles got an RBI single from Ethan Tuttle and despite Fontbonne putting two runners on in the ninth it was Spalding hanging on for the win.
