Fontbonne Baseball Season Comes To A Close In The SLIAC Tournament Against Greenville
ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The No. 2 seeded Fontbonne University baseball team saw its 2022 season come to an end on Friday at the SLIAC Tournament as the Griffins fell 13-4 against No. 4 Greenville.
ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The No. 2 seeded Fontbonne University baseball team saw its 2022 season come to an end on Friday at the SLIAC Tournament as the Griffins fell 13-4 against No. 4 Greenville.
Game Breakdown
Things started out well for the Griffins with Daniel Youngblood hitting a solo shot to right in the first. Fontbonne tacked on another run in the second, however, the Panthers scored one in the third and six in the fourth, highlighted by Drew Frey's grand slam giving Greenville a 7-2 lead.
Dusty Sutton made it 8-2 in the fifth with a two out RBI single to right. In the seventh, the Panthers tacked on five more runs leading 13-2.
Fontbonne got an RBI double from Carter Lee in the bottom of the inning followed by an RBI groundout from Colby Shivers in the eighth, but the comeback was not to be with Greenville going on for the win.
