Baseball Splits with Oglethorpe
ATLANTA, Ga. – The Fontbonne University baseball team traveled to Atlanta for a three-game series against Oglethorpe and they split their first two games today. The Griffins move to 2-1 on the season.
Fontbonne defeated Oglethorpe on game one, 16-7.
- Ty Kueper had three hits, two runs, and one RBI.
- Blake Van Beers had five hits, three runs, and three RBI.
- Dalton Groves had two hits, two runs, and five RBI.
- Jack Wood had two hits, one run, and two RBI.
- Luke Smith scored four runs.
Zach Williams grabbed the win on the mound. He pitched 6.0 innings and struck out five while allowing seven hits and three runs.
Josh Stratton pitched 2.2 innings. He struck out four while allowing two hits and four runs.
The Griffins fell to Oglethorpe on game two, 10-4.
- Eric Creech and Nate Walker each had one hit and one run.
- Jack Wood had two hits and one run.
- Kameron Brooks scored one run.
- Dalton Groves and Ty Kueper each had one hit and one RBI.
Vonner Panek started on the mound for the Griffins. He pitched 5.0 innings and struck out six. He allowed six hits and four runs.
Austin Happel was credited with the loss on the mound. He pitched 2.0 innings and struck out three while allowing two hits and two runs.
Darren Luchetti pitched 1.0 inning. He allowed one hit and four runs.
