How It Happened
In game one, at 3:25, the Griffins Jungler, Matt Young, gave away first blood to MTU's Jungler, but got the trade kill. At 7:28, MTU earned a kill of the first Dragon (Mountain). Things continued to go MTU's way at 10:18 with them capturing first Rift Herald and summon it immediately in the top to secure three turret plates.
From there, they destroyed the First Turret of the game. At 13:49, the Griffins killed the second Dragon (Infernal) and six minutes later went on to destroy MTU's Mid Lane Turret. However, 33.0 seconds later, MTU killed the third Dragon (Ocean) and secured the Baron four minutes later.
The Griffins killed the fourth Dragon in the 25th minute, but MTU destroyed Fontbonne Mid Lane inhibitor just 10.0 seconds later. Michigan Technological University went on to kill the fifth Dragon, win a Teamfight and destroy the Griffins Nexus to win the game.
In game two, Fontbonne Top Laner Dung Ha gets first blood and kept the momentum with the team getting the first Dragon (Infernal) and second Dragon (Ocean) kill at both 5:58 and 11:29, respectively.
MTU answered two minutes later as they captured first Rift Herald of the game. The Griffins Top Laner, Dung Ha, teleports to the Bottom Lane to puck up a double kill and destroy the First Turret.
At 16:35, MTU summoned the Rift Herald in the Bottom Lane. The Griffins went on to kill the third Dragon (Cloud) less than a minute later and went on to capture the second Rift Herald of the game and summon it in the Top Lane to take MTU's Top Outer Turret.
The team's success continued in the 23rd minute with the Griffins earning a kill of the fourth Dragon to claim the Cloud Dragon Soul. They secured the Baron in the 27th minute, however, the MTU Esports team destroyed Fontbonne Mid Inhibitor at 29:03.
After Fontbonne killed the Elder Dragon, MTU took Baron in the 35th minute. The Griffins responded with a kill of the second Elder Dragon near the 37th minute, however, the Griffins fell in a Teamfight and MTU destroyed the Griffins Nexus to win.
The team returns to action this Saturday at 3 p.m., against Lewis.
