Dorhauer records seven 3-pointers in loss to Highlanders
St. Louis- Despite falling to MacMurray tonight, Fontbonne freshman Richard Dorhauer connects on seven buckets from behind the arc for a career-high 21 points. Seven 3-pointers in a single game is also a career-high for Dorhauer.
MacMurray shot 68% from the field in the 1st half and jogged into the locker room winning 41-30 while Fontbonne connected only 41% of the time. Fontbonne held their only lead of the game in the 1st half.
Second half basketball looked gloomy for the Griffins as MacMurray started with a 12-3 run and managed to lead by the wide margin of 23 points with 8 minutes remaining (65-42).
Fontbonne found the back of the net and decreased the Highlanders' lead to 5 points with only 2 minutes to go in the game (77-72), but MacMurray held on for the win.
In the final 8 minutes of play, Fontbonne outscored MacMurray 40-25.
Top scorers for MacMurray were Clayton Whitlock (18), Luke Bishop (16), and Cole Busch (15).
Besides Dorhauer, Griffin top performers included Greg Gentry and Jack Stephens both with 12 points, Jared Greenlee recorded 11 points and 7 rebounds and Darius Rucker pulled in 8 rebounds in 23 minutes of play.
Fontbonne travels to Elsah, IL to take on the Principia College Panthers at 3pm this Saturday, February 2nd.
