The Fontbonne University men's basketbal team dropped a pair of games this weekend in Madison, Wisconsin to fall to 0-4 on the season. The Griffins lost on Saturday to Edgewood College 97-78 and to Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) on Sunday 85-73.
On Saturday, Fontbonne had three players in double figures led by freshman Kody Ettinger with 20 points. Fellow freshman Bryan DeGeare tallied 11 points while sophomore Jared Greenlee pitched in 13. As a team, Fontbonne shot 48 percent from the field. The Griffins struggled defensively however allowing Edgewood to shoot 56 percent from the field. Fontbonne was out-rebounded 39-27.
On Sunday, Ettinger led the way offensively again with 25 points. Freshman Nathan Reichert pitched in 11 points off the bench for the Griffins. Fontbonne's defensive struggles continued Sunday as MSOE shot 52 percent from the floor and 41 percent from behind the arc.
Fontbonne won't return to the court again until December 4th when they open St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) play by hosting Blackburn College at 8 pm.
