St. Louis- Fontbonne men's basketball slipped to 2-11 overall last night after falling to conference foe Westminster College.
Fontbonne trailed by one halfway through the first half when Westminster chipped away little by little. In the final eight and a half minutes of the half, Fontbonne only scored five free throws, one layup and one three-pointer, allowing the Blue Jays to slip away. Westminster went on an 11-4 run in the final four minutes for a 12-point halftime advantage.
With Fontbonne missing most of their shots in the second half, it allowed Westminster to gain a 23 point lead. The Blue Jays finished the game ahead 20 points (84-64).
Fontbonne blanked from long range, shooting a mere 13.6%, connecting on only three of 22 attempts. The Griffin's 39.6% shooting didn't compare to Westminster's 51.9%.
