Brian Fogerty to be Inducted into Fontbonne Hall of Fame
St. Louis, Mo. - Fontbonne University Director of Athletics Maria Eftink has announced that Brian Fogerty '09 will be the newest member of the Fontbonne University Athletic Hall of Fame. Fogerty was inducted into the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Hall of Fame in 2014. Fogerty will officially be inducted into the Fontbonne Athletic Hall of Fame on November 12, 2014. The event will be held at 6 pm, before the Athletic Griffin Gala Showcase and Alumni Social, held during Inauguration Week of University President Dr. J. Michael Pressimone.
Fogerty, a three year men's basketball starter, garnished several caliber-level awards throughout his career as he guided the men's basketball team to three consecutive SLIAC Conference Tournament Titles. Fontbonne is the only team in the SLIAC to advance to NCAA Division III Tournament three years in a row (2007, 2008, 2009). Fogerty was a two-time SLIAC Player of the Year, three-time first-team all-conference honoree, and is fourth in the SLIAC in career points. Fogerty also garnished D3hoops.com All-America honors (Honorable Mention).
Fogerty leads the Fontbonne 1,000 point club with 1,756 total points. He holds career records at Fontbonne in points per game average (16.7) and most field goals (678). During his 2008-09 season, Fogerty accumulated 201 field goals, still the season record and in 2007-08 drained 114 free throws, tieing the season free throw record along with Roy Woods (94-95).
