SLIAC Announces Men's Basketball Preseason Poll
St. Louis, Mo. - The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) recently released their 2014-15 Men's Basketball Coaches Preseason Poll. Webster tops the list as the Gorloks took the NCAA Tournament appearance last season.
Fontbonne University was chosen sixth with 44 total points after going 9-16 overall and 9-9 in the SLIAC. This year Griffins welcome new head coach Anthony Hall along with a new assistant coach, Sean Kowal. Lance Thornhill and Roshawn Russell return to the coaching staff.
Fontbonne returns four starters and nine players. Richard Dorhauer, an honorable mention All-Conference performer last year, averaged 10.3 points and 3.1 assists per game last season. Juniors Jared Greenlee, Darius Rucker, and Blake Welch round out the returners with Greg Gentry also coming back after a year off. Several newcomers that should see time including Ben Kissing, Evan Johnson, Jack Lake, and Colin Schirmer.
Fontbonne has an exhibition game at Southeast Missouri State University on November 8th and will host their first home contest on November 22nd against Elmhurst College.
