Men's Basketball Looking To Climb Up The SLIAC Standings In 2017-18
ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic (SLIAC) released the 2017 Men’s Basketball Preseason Coaches Poll today and the Griffins are picked to finish 10th.
ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic (SLIAC) released the 2017 Men's Basketball Preseason Coaches Poll today and the Griffins are picked to finish 10th.
Westminster College, who won its second consecutive SLIAC Championship last year, sit atop the poll with 72 points. MacMurray College comes in at No. 2 with 67 points, while Greenville (56), Eureka (54) and Spalding (48) round out the top five.
The Griffins are looking to bounce back after the 2016-17 season and they've also welcomed 14 new players to the team that'll look to make an impact.
Fontbonne does return leading scorer Jack Lake for his senior year. The Jackson, Missouri, native, is coming off a career year where he posted a team-high 14.5 points per game on 58.7 percent shooting.
Also, returning is junior Kris McCann as he's got his eyes set on building off the 11.2 points per game and 39.7 percent shooting from the floor.
