How It Happened
In the first half, it took both teams a little bit of time to get going but a 3-pointer from Sean McGee had Fontbonne ahead 13-8 with 11:35 remaining.
Later, a Noah Coddington 3-pointer had the Griffins ahead 23-17 with 4:38 remaining. However, the Gorloks answered with an 11-0 run in just two minutes and 11 seconds to lead 28-23 on Aron Hopp's made layup.
The two teams met-up at 30-30 and looked as if they would head into the locker room all square. Josh Johnson, though had other plans as he came up half court and drained his 3-pointer to give Webster the 33-30 advantage at the break.
Fontbonne shot 41.4 percent from the floor in the first, while Webster ended the first 20:00 minutes shooting 44.4 percent from the floor.
In the second half, Noah Coddington drained his jumper to make it a 40-40 contest with 16:08 left in regulation. After McGee made his jumper with 12:53 on the clock to tie the game, 45-45, the Gorloks answered with an 8-0 run to give them some breathing room, 53-45 on Rodson Etienne's bucket.
The Griffins got the deficit down to 55-51 with 8:07 remaining after Elijah Rice made his layup, however, the Gorloks stretched its lead out to 71-61 at 2:51 and they never looked back hanging on for the eight-point win.

- The Gorloks shot 50.0 percent from the field and outrebounded Fontbonne, 31-28.
- Webster also had the 38-28 advantage in the paint.

- Noah Coddington added 13 points and eight boards, while Elijah Rice was the final player in double-figures with 10.
