How It Happened
In the first half, the Griffins jumped out to a commanding 26-5 lead at the 12:16 mark on Cody McKinney's 3-pointer. The team maintained its double-digit lead with Anthony Jones draining his 3-pointer with 3:52 remaining to make it a 43-23 contest.
The Griffins never let Spalding get within 15 the rest of the way as they led 49-28 going into the break. Fontbonne shot 60.0 percent from the floor and outrebounded the Golden Eagles, 18-13. Noah Coddington led with 14 points on 6-of-11 shooting.
The offense didn't slow down in the second half with Sean McGee connecting on his 3-pointer to give them a 65-34 lead with 15:30 on the clock.
With Fontbonne shooting 64.5 percent from the field in the second half and all but three players that appeared in the half registering at least two points, the Griffins were able to cruise to the 28-point win.
