INDIANOLA, Iowa.—The Fontbonne University men's basketball team closed out its trip to Iowa falling 90-57 against Buena Vista.
The Griffins were put into an early 14-1 hole at the 15:15 mark on Simon Daniel's 3-pointer. Fontbonne got the deficit down to 29-18 with 6:24 left on Peyton Blair's 3-pointer.
However, the Beavers closed out the half on a 17-9 run to take a 46-27 advantage into the break.
Fontbonne had its struggles from the floor in the first going 31.0 percent from the floor and just 14.3 percent from beyond-the-arc. BVU, meanwhile, shot 41.7 percent from the field and connected on eight 3-pointers.
In the second half, the Beavers remained in control never relinquishing its double-digit lead en route to the 33-point win.
