Men's Basketball Sweeps Season Series Over Blue Jays
FULTON, Mo.—The Fontbonne University men’s basketball team closed out its road trip on a high note with a dominating 93-74 win over Westminster. The Griffins go to 13-11 overall and 9-4 in the SLIAC. Westminster drops to 2-22 overall and 1-12 in the SLIAC.

Fontbonne had four players in double-figures led by Caden Clark with 23 points. Brent Wagner went 8-of-12 from the field for 21 points, while Ethan Chartrand came off the bench finishing with 13.
Elijah Rice went 6-of-9 to finish with 12 points. Rice currently sits with 987 career points needing just 13 to reach the 1,000 career point mark. Will Suellentrop finished with six points and pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds.
In the first half, the Blue Jays led 24-19 at the 11:33 mark on Brennan Jeffries layup. Fontbonne answered with a 7-0 run with Chartrand's free throws giving them a 26-24 advantage at the 9:53 mark.
From there, the Griffins outscored Westminster 13-7 as Peyton Blair sank his jumper pushing the lead out to 41-31 with 4:22 left. Fontbonne maintained that double-digit lead the rest of the way going into the locker room on top, 52-40.
Fontbonne shot 57.6 percent from the floor in the first with Wagner and Clark already having 13points, while Chartrand contributed 11.
In the second half, the Griffins outscored Westminster 18-7 in the first seven minutes and 15 seconds pushing its lead out to 70-47.
Fontbonne shot 50.0 percent in the second half allowing them to cruise to the 19-point victory. The Griffins shot 53.8 percent from the floor in the game and held a 41-30 advantage in the battle on the glass. Fontbonne also scored 54 points in the paint.
