Griffins finish 3rd in SLIAC Tournament
The Fontbonne University men's golf team took third place in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Tournament. The tournament, which concluded yesteray, was held at the Forest Park Golf Club in St. Louis, MO.
Fontbonne shot a three-round total of 928 with rounds of 303, 310 and 315. Spalding University won the tournament with a three-round total of 854 with rounds of 278, 291, 285.
The Griffins were paced by freshman Bryan Easton who finished seventh in the tournament firing a three-round total of 223. Easton shot rounds of 73, 72 and 78. He finished just 12 strokes behind the winner. Sophomore Zane Betz finished 11th in the tournament with a three-round total of 230 with rounds of 77, 77 and 76.
Adam Roads, Zach Meyer and Kory Carter rounded out the scoring for the Griffins finishing 17th, 18th and 20th respectively.
Easton was named to the SLIAC Second Team All-Conference while Dave Withers was named to the SLIAC All-Sportsmanship Award.
