Men's Golf with Good Regional Showing
Wisconsin, Dells, Wis. - Fontbonne University men's golf took 12th place out of 28 teams at the NCAA Div. III Midwest Region Classic Monday and Tuesday. Weather dampered day one play, forcing stranded players to finish day one on their second day of playing. As a team the Griffins shot 323 during round one and 312 during round two for a 635 team total. The Griffins were 59 strokes over par. Overall, 140 players participated in the Classic.
Adam Rhoads led the Griffins after shooting his best this season. Rhoads finished tied for 21st shooting 79/75/154.
Kory Carter shot about the same both days (79/78/157) for a tie in the 38th slot.
Zane Betz struggled on day one shooting 83 but picked up his play on the second day finishing with a round of 76 for a 159 finish, tying 49th.
Brian Easton's 82/83/165 play tied him for a 74th finish.
Zach Goers competed as an individual in the Classic with a great second day, finishing 112th with a 94/83/177 score.
Fontbonne is set to travel to Millikin this weekend for Friday and Saturday play to finish out their fall season.
