Griffins take on rain-soaked Kansas City golf course
Parkville, Mo. - Senior Kory Carter got out to a hot start on day one of the Park University Virginia McCoy Invitational on The Deuce at The National Golf Club of Kansas City. Carter was in fifth place after the first day on the course, shooting three over par. After the rain came down, Carter suffered a set-back, shooting 14 over par for a 20th place finish.
Zane Betz finished 27th as his rough first day was bettered by a 75 on day two. The Deuce has a par 70 for all competitors on the rain-soaked course. Michael Kanan and Adam Rhoads tied for 31st, having to shoot just two more strokes over Betz. Kanan shot 74 on his second attempt. Zach Goers rounded out the Griffins' fifth team slot, tieing for a 40th place finish.
The Griffins are back in action Monday, April 13th at the Jacksonville Country Club as Illinois College hosts in Jacksonville, Ill.
