Griffins prepare for SLIAC Championship at Gorlok Spring Invite
Eureka, Mo. - Fontbonne men's golf participated at the Webster University Gorlok Spring Invitational Monday and Tuesday at Aberdeen Golf Club. The weather cleared just as the players walked out of the clubhouse for their noon shotgun start on Monday as it turned into a gorgeous afternoon for some golf. Next week the SLIAC will play their spring men's championship on the same course.
The Griffins finished seventh of nine teams participating, including two from Central College. Fontbonne finished with a two-day total of 656. The host Gorloks won the invitational by four strokes with a total score of 598.
Leading Fontbonne was senior Bryan Easton, shooting 18 over par followed by freshman Will Pruden. Pruden's 76 on Tuesday was a low for the Griffins and brought him just within reach of Easton who finished tied for 26th. Pruden's +19 put him tied for 30th.
