Men's Golf concludes season at SLIAC Tournament
Eureka, Mo. - Fontbonne men's golf finished 2015-16 play at the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament this week. The tournament, held at Aberdeen Golf Club in Eureka, Mo., was played over a beautiful two-day, 36-hole course.
Fontbonne's slow start on day one pushed the Griffins to fifth place out of the eight conference teams, despite a big day two push.
The Griffins shot 331 in both rounds on the first day, with Michael Kanan taking the charge. Kanan was tied for 14th going into day two with rounds of 80 and 79 respectively. Fontbonne improved drastically on day two's 18 holes, finishing with a team round of 312 and 974 three-round total.
Kanan finished tied for 15th place with a 237 after shooting 78 on day two while Zach Goers shot a Griffin low-round of 76 in the final round.
Senior Bryan Easton was named to the SLIAC All-Sportsmanship team in his final round of collegiate golf. The St. Peter's, Mo. native tied with Goers for 22nd place, shooting 247 on scores of 81, 86 and 80.
