Rapisardo Leads Griffins After Round One At The Midwest Region Classic

GALENA, Ill.—The Fontbonne University men's golf team hit the course for the first time this year at the Midwest Region Classic and they currently sit in a tie for 21st at 42-over par 330.
Wisconsin-Superior scored a 10-over par 298 to hold the opening round lead. Carthage shot a 12-over par 300 for second, while Wheaton College hit a 13-over par 301 for third.
Individually, three players are under-par and the field is led by Jordan Knutson's (Carthage College) 2-under par 70 first-round performance.
Matt Rapisardo led the Griffins with his 8-over par 80 first-round score for 48th. The St. Louis, Mo., native closed out his day with a clean final nine holes with two birdies and the rest of the six holes he scored a par. Will Pruden, meanwhile, stands at 9-over par 81 for 62nd.
Paul Henderson was the next Griffin on the leaderboard at 11-over par 83. Playing as an individual, Carson King scored a 13-over par 85 in his Griffins debut.
Sam Kaminski turned in his scorecard at 14-over par 86, while Satchel Conroy finished out the day at 21-over par 93.
