Three Griffins Are Inside Top-10 At The Oakland City Invite
MONTGOMERY, Ind.—The Fontbonne University men’s golf team turned in a 20-over par 308 in the first round of the Oakland City Invite and that was good enough for second place.
MONTGOMERY, Ind.—The Fontbonne University men's golf team turned in a 20-over par 308 in the first round of the Oakland City Invite and that was good enough for second place.
Indiana University-Kokomo ended the day with an even-par 288 to stand alone in first. Vincennes University is one-stroke behind Fontbonne for third.
Individually, Sam Seagrave (IU-Kokomo) walked into the clubhouse with a 4-under par 68. Plenty of golfers are on his heels, including Paul Weiskopf, who turned in a 3-over par 75 for fourth. He totaled a team-high three birdies on the day and ended the road with a birdie on the 18th.
Will Pruden continues his standout 2018 fall season as he is tied for sixth at 4-over par 76. Paul Henderson is the third Griffin inside the top-10 at 5-over par 77, while Carson King turned in his scorecard at eight-over par 80 for 15th.
Playing as an individual, Michael Maloney, hit his way to a 10-over par 82, while Satchel Conroy rounded out his day at 13-over par 85. Aidan Gansner was the second Griffin to play as an individual and he closed out at 27-over par 99.
