The Fontbonne University men's lacrosse team lost their second game in a row last night falling to Augustana College 15-4. The Griffins dropped to 8-6 overall and 4-4 Midwest Lacrosse Conference (MLC).
Augustana scored five goals over the last five minutes of the first quarter to blow the game wide open. The Griffins trailed 6-0 after the first quarter and 8-1 at halftime.
After halftime Augustana would add four more goals to take a 12-1 lead into the fourth quarter. The fourth quarter proven to be Fontbonne's best as they outshot Augustana 14-7 while scoring three goals.
For the game, freshman Brian Furrow had a goal and an assist while senior goalie Chad Meurer recorded 19 saves. Meurer has tallied 39 saves in the past two games.
Fontbonne will return to the field Saturday playing at Mount St. Joseph College.
