The Fontbonne University men's lacrosse team lost its second game in two days as they fell to Millsaps College last night 22-7. The Griffins are now 0-3 on the season.
Fontbonne fell behind early as Millsaps took advantage of several man-up opportunities in the first quarter to take a 4-0 lead. Three of the four Millsaps goals were scored with a Fontbonne player in the penalty box.
That trend would continue in the second quarter as Millsaps blew the game wide open. After Fontbonne's Ryan Cole scored to make it 7-1, Millsaps scored four straight man-up goals to pull to a 11-1 halftime lead. Cole's goal was assisted by sophomore Brett Harris.
Harris scored two goals in the third quarter but the Griffins trailed 17-4 heading into the final 15 minutes. Harris continued his productive night in the fourth as he scored two more goals to give him four on the evening. Cole also scored in the fourth assisted by senior Joey Mirth.
Fontbonne freshman goalie Seth Yance faced 39 shots in the cage and recorded 17 saves. The Griffins return to action Saturday when they host Milkwaukee School of Engineering at noon.
