St. Louis, Mo. - Fontbonne lacrosse fell to Elmhurst College 27-7 in a last-minute scheduled game last night. The Griffins fall to 0-9 on the year.
After Elmhurst secured a 5-0 start, junior Joey Mirth flew a top-right corner shot past the Bluejay keeper, scoring the only Griffin first-quarter goal. Mirth would go on to be a part of six of Fontbonne's seven goals, scoring a hat trick with three assists. Mirth's final goal of the game was just opposite of the first, a scorcher to the top left corner. The Griffin season assist-leader has 15 assists on the year.
Brian Nguyen scored two goals for the Griffins while Michael Picciolo and Marcus Seale added one goal apiece. Fontbonne played the loss without leading scorer Brett Harris in the lineup due to injury.
Fontbonne is at Aurora on Saturday for a 2pm contest and doesn't return home until April 18th.
