Second Quarter Outburst Leads Warriors Past Griffins

The Griffins (1-7), totaled 23 shots and went 25-of-26 on its clear attempts. However, the Warriors (7-7) had the advantage in shots (56-23), face-offs won (32-4) and ground balls (54-12).
Individually, Michael Picciolo led with two goals while Dalton Teague and Alex Scott had one each. In net, Nick Fresta came away with nine saves.
The Warriors, meanwhile, were led by Max Lynch's five goal performance. Garrett Brown, Cole Cramer and Jack Gorman contributed three goals each.
After Hendrix opened with a 2-0 lead in the first, the Griffins got on the board at 11:49. Picciolo netted his seventh on the season to make it 2-1.
The Warriors answered with three unanswered goals over the next eight minutes, expanding its lead out to 5-1. Fontbonne stayed within striking distance, though as Teague scored an unassisted goal of his own, cutting it down to 5-2.
Prior to the quarter ending, the Warriors got a goal from Lynch with 22.0 seconds left and that put them out in front, 6-2.
In the second, it was all Hendrix. They outscored Fontbonne 12-1 and headed into the break ahead, 18-3. Hendrix totaled seven more goals in the third and three in the fourth to secure the win.
Fontbonne will return to action next Saturday to begin its four-game home stand. First-up is Concordia-Wisconsin at 12 p.m.
