Scott's Four-Goal Performance Leads Griffins Past Cougars

RIVER FOREST, Ill.—The Fontbonne University men's lacrosse team capped off its 2018 season in style with a 13-3 win over Concordia Chicago on Saturday.
The Griffins (2-13; 1-8 MLC), outshot the Cougars 42-18 and won 14 of the 20 face-offs. Leading the way for Fontbonne was Alex Scott as he finished with four goals to give him 24 on the season.
Cameron Director and Dalton Teague netted two, while Connor Mallett, Kanaan Leach, Reagan Chin and Matt Rech added the other goals. In net, Nick Fresta made five saves for the victory.
After the Cougars took the opening 1-0 lead at the 12:18 mark, the Griffins took over the rest of the way. Reagan Chin got them on the board with an unassisted goal at 8:07. Then, just 11.0 seconds later, Scott netted his first of the game off an assist from Brian Nguyen.
The Griffins went on to get three more goals from Director, Scott and Leach, putting them ahead 5-1 after 15:00 minutes of play.
In the second, the Griffins outscored the Cougars 3-1 to take a comfortable 8-2 lead into the locker room. It was all Fontbonne the rest of the way as they scored two in the third and three more in the fourth for the 10-goal win.
