Men's Lacrosse Drops Tough Road Contest Against Monmouth
MONMOUTH, Ill.-- The Fontbonne University men's lacrosse team had a tough 15-6 defeat against the Monmouth Fighting Scots on Wednesday.

MONMOUTH, Ill.-- The Fontbonne University men's lacrosse team had a tough 15-6 defeat against the Monmouth Fighting Scots on Wednesday.

Records: Monmouth (6-7; 4-5 MLC), Fontbonne (1-11; 1-6 LlC)
What Happened:
In the first, Monmouth scores first at the 13:03 mark with a goal by Chase Cranford (assisted by Mitch Perez). Fontbonne was able to get two goals in the first, both scored by senior Brian Nguyen. However, Monmouth was able to take the lead 4-2.
In the second, Brian Nguyen completes his hat-trick while reducing Monmouth's lead to 4-3. From there, Monmouth added three more goals, but Cameron Director was able to add a goal making the score 7-4 in favor of Monmouth.
In the third, the Fighting Scots were able to pull away and add five goals making the score 12-4.
In the fourth quarter, Michael Picciolo (assisted by Connor Mallett) scores first giving Fontbonne the momentum. Unfortunately, Monmouth was able to add three more goals. The Griffins scored last with another goal by Picciolo (assisted by Nguyen) to make the final score 15-6.

- Senior Brian Nguyen recorded a hat-trick and one assist. His three goal performance gives him a new career-high of 17 on the year.
- Junior Cameron Director recorded one goal on 3 shots.
- Sophomore Connor Mallett contributed one assist.
Monmouth Notables:
- Kyle Hatfiel and Croy Seagren both recoded a hat-trick.
- Shane Herker and Chase Cranford both had 2 goals each.
- Chase Cranfor had a team high 11 shots.
