How It Happened
In the 12th minute of the first half, a foul was called on the Griffins and the Comets were awarded a penalty-kick. Jovi Munoz stepped up and scored to give the home team a 1-0 lead.
However, that advantage was short-lived. In the 14th minute, Jared Lyeki received the ball near the top left-corner of the box. He passed it on over for a cutting Mike Massay and he one-touched it past the Comets net-minder to tie it up at 1-1.
Six minutes later, though the Comets regained the advantage. Alfredo Kaegi got the loose ball inside the box and he scored into the top corner of the net to make it a 2-1 outing at the break.
In the second half, 33.0 seconds in, the Comets made it a 3-1 game. Merek Bychovski sent a through ball for Kaegi, he got behind the Griffins defense, and scored his second on the night. Texas-Dallas went on to hold Fontbonne to one shot in the second half and held on for the two-goal win.
