ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Fontbonne University men’s soccer team got its offense going against Blackburn on Tuesday as they picked up a 5-0 shutout win.

ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Fontbonne University men's soccer team got its offense going against Blackburn on Tuesday as they picked up a 5-0 shutout win.

How It Happened
In the first half, the Griffins opened with a 7-0 shot advantage and eventually broke through in the 23rd minute on Bryan Carroll's first goal on the season.
The team continued to control the pace of the game and extended its lead out to 2-0 on Andres Castro's first goal on the year as well.
In the second half, in the 66 minute the team pushed it out to 3-0 on Jarid Morton's first goal, which was assisted by Darwin Ivanovich. The team added goals from Brendan Shawcross (71st minute) and Morton once more for the 5-0 final.
Fontbonne Leaders
- The Griffins owned a 21-2 shot advantage.
- Carroll and Charles Gibbs tied with three shots each.
- In net, Ethan Cowell and Cory Schonhoff split time in net with Cowell earning the win.
Blackburn Leaders
- Blackburn got its shots from Jack Mcrath and Nick Russell.
- In net, Chase Fiedler made six saves.
