ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Fontbonne University men's soccer team earned its first win on the season after knocking off Greenville, 2-1.

How It Happened
It was a back-and-forth possession battle throughout the first half. Each of the teams had its fair of chances but the Griffins broke through at the 34:22 mark.
Bryan Carroll raced up the right side of the field and crossed a pass over for Joe Noah who beat Eric Miller giving Fontbonne the 1-0 lead. Prior to the half ending, though the Panthers got a goal from Juan Salazar.
In the second half, the Panthers had a couple of scoring chances in the 48th and 53rd minutes but Ethan Cowell came up with both saves.
It remained a 1-1 contest up until the 88:03 mark when a penalty was called against Greenville inside the box and the Griffins were awarded a penalty kick. Trent Calvert stepped in and scored the game winner for Fontbonne.
