Men's Tennis wins top singles and doubles against Marian
Fontbonne won at No. 1-doubles and both No. 1 & No. 2-singles as Sebastian Culton earned his first collegiate wins in both doubles and singles.
St. Louis, Mo. - Fontbonne University men's tennis had a quality showing against NCAA Division III opponent Marian University late Tuesday night.
The match, moved indoors and pushed back to 9 p.m. due to the weather, included two third-set tie breakers. Junior Blake Wisniewski was on the winning end of one of those in No. 2-singles while fellow junior Khoa Trieu suffered defeat in his.
Freshman Sebastian Culton teamed up with Wisniewski as the pair earned the first point for Fontbonne with a win at No. 1-doubles (8-1). The win was the first of Culton's collegiate career. He then followed it up with his first collegiate singles win in the top spot for the Griffins, wiping out his opponent 6-1, 6-1.
Despite falling 6-3 to Marian, it's the most points Fontbonne has earned on the men's side since September of 2014.
