ST. LOUIS, Mo.— The Fontbonne University men's tennis team took on Westminster in its first SLIAC outing, though the Blue Jays pulled away for the 7-2 win.
In doubles play, Adam Fuchs and Pete Hasenmueller won at the No. 1 spot, 8-2. Then, Stephen Lendy and Khoa Trieu played well against Joshua Udinyiwe and Phillip Udinyiwe, however, the twins spoiled the Griffins effort for the 9-8 win.
At the No. 3 position, the team of Jacob Lendy and Noah Coddington earned a dominant 8-3 win over Giovanni Strickland and Nick Lakowski to get the Griffins on the board.
In singles action, Khoa Trieu picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win for the Griffins at the No. 4 slot. The Blue Jays went on to win the other matches for the 7-2 victory.
