Bio

Chris Clayton joined the Fontbonne tennis coaching staff for the 2016-17 seasons.

Originally from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Chris had an amazing college career as a memeber of the Harvard University varsity men's tennis program from 2005-2009. His senior season he earned Ivy League Player of the Year, was a unanimous All-Ivy First Team in singles and All-Ivy Second Team in doubles. He went 20-10 in singles and 16-11 in doubles his final season in the No.-1 spot in all singles and all but two doubles matches. He opened the season ranked No. 1 in the Northeast Region while also earning multiple sportsmanship and leadership awards. Chris also garnished Farnsworth/ITA Senior Player of the Year for the Northeast Region and captured the ITA Northeast Regional title in the singles bracket with a 6-0 victory and 5-0 doubles win for that title as well.

His junior year Chris was ranked No. 64 nationally and he was ranked as high as No. 77 nationally his sophomore season. In 2004, he ranked No. 1025 in ATP World Tour Singles Rankings.

Chris will help out in all aspects of individual instruction on the Fontbonne tennis teams.
