St. Louis, Mo. - Fontbonne men's volleyball earned their first Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League win tonight in a 25-10, 25-12, 25-15 sweep of Adrian College. The win snapped a three game losing streak for the Griffins who are now 8-6 overall and 1-5 in MCVL play.
The Griffins were led offensively by sophomore Stephen Lendy who killed 10 of 12 attempts for a .833 hitting average! He also served up six aces and recorded five digs on the evening. TJ Vorva was a threat on the right side after hitting .417 with six kills. Freshman Gabe Grote stepped in off the bench with six digs to lead the team along with four kills on six attemptsin the third set. Lendy's brother Jacob totaled 24 assists, the most from either team. Fontbonne averaged .429 in hitting while the Bulldogs saw a negative hitting percentage of -.116.
The Griffins are back at home tomorrow when they host MCVL opponent Olivet College at 3 p.m.
