Men's Volleyball Cruises Past Millikin; Woolsey Ties Career Blocks Record

ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Fontbonne University men's volleyball team returned home on Wednesday night and treated its fans to a straight set sweep over Millikin.

Set Notes

Set 1: The Griffins opened with a 13-7 lead on a double block from Braden Woolsey and Cameron Graves. With the team posting 11 kills and just two errors for a .562 hitting percentage the Griffins were able to cruise to the 25-12 win.

Joseph Huster led with three kills, while at the net Fontbonne had six block assists led by Woolsey with three.

Set 2: Fontbonne grabbed a 15-10 lead in the second, but the Big Blue kept battling and trimmed the deficit to 21-20. However, the Griffins closed out the set on a 4-1 run as a Millikin attack error secured the 25-21 victory.

Logan Irby led with three kills, while Tengis Kelly, Diego Cruz, Huster, and Kolin Scharnhorst had two kills each.

Set 3: The Griffins maintained a 12-9 lead in the third on Ayden Illingworth's kill. Fontbonne continued holding onto its marginal lead and despite the Big Blue getting the advantage down to one, the Griffins secured the 25-23 win on Logan Irby's kill.

• Millikin was limited to 26 kills and a .037 hitting percentage.

• Braden Woolsey appeared in one set totaling two kills, a solo block, and three block assists. He's now up to 302 career blocks tying him with Emir Hadzisalihovic for first all-time at Fontbonne.
• Logan Irby tied his season-high with six kills and a .417 hitting percentage.
• Diego Cruz got his first start finishing with a season-high six kills.
• Lee Kreutzman had a season-high five kills. Joseph Huster totaled five kills on six swings.
• Tengis Kelley had a season-high 19 assists.
• Kyle Snook finished with a season-high nine digs.
