Set Notes
Set 1: After the Little Giants tied it 11-11, the Griffins went on a 4-0 run leading 15-11. Fontbonne dominated the rest of the set going on for the 25-16 win.
The Griffins had 10 kills and a .278 hitting percentage in the first. Ryan Lively led with three kills, while Josh Blomberg and Cameron Graves had two kills each.
Set 2: The Little Giants this time around grabbed a 11-7 lead in the second. They stretched it out to 18-9, but Fontbonne kept battling trailing 23-20 on Graves' kill. However, the Little Giants closed out the set on a kill from Luke Davis for the 25-21 win.
Fontbonne had 10 kills and a .138 hitting percentage in the second, while the Little Giants fared better with 15 kills and a team-high .333 hitting percentage.
Set 3: It was back-and-forth action in the third, but the Griffins started to pull away leading 17-13 on a double block from Logan Irby and Tony Brooks. The Little Giants tried to make it interesting late trailing 24-23, but a service error gave Fontbonne the 25-23 win.
Fontbonne bounced back in the third offensively with 12 kills and a match-high .385 hitting percentage. Lively led with five kills on eight swings for a .500 hitting percentage.
Set 4: Wabash led 15-11 in the fourth, but a 4-0 run by Fontbonne capped off by Graves' kill tied it up. The Griffins eventually took an 18-17 lead and never looked back fending off the Little Giants for the 25-23 set and match win.
