Bio

Payne enters his second season as an assistant for the men's volleyball program. He will specialize in coaching pin hitters and setters.

Payne is a graduate of Fontbonne, having been a four-year starter at outside hitter, opposite hitter, and setter during his four seasons. Payne was recognized on the all-academic conference team for all four seasons and was the team captain for his junior and senior seasons. 

Payne has stayed close to volleyball since his graduation in 2013 as he is a decorated high school volleyball official. Payne has officiated volleyball at the high school level for 11 years (22 seasons) and has been selected to officiate five state championship matches. Payne officiated two collegiate seasons as well as four USAV seasons. 

Outside of Fontbonne, Payne is a social and digital media consultant for a variety of clients from the political, corporate, and nonprofit sectors. He has earned recognition from The Missouri Times’ list 30 under 30 in Missouri Politics and Top 100 List in Missouri Politics.

Payne is a St. Louis native graduating from Fort Zumwalt South High School and currently lives in the City of St. Louis.
