Softball Ends Game 2 Early, Defeating Lindwood 10-2 in Five Innings
St. Louis- Fontbonne softball's start in game two was much better than game one, as the Griffins scored two runs in the both the first and second innings, jumping out to a 4-0 lead against the Lindenwood University Lions. A scoreless third inning was followed by a multitude of Fontbonne walks, doubles and good baserunning, resulting in six more runs for a 10-0 advantage. The Lions finally got on the board in the fifth scoring two runs.
During game two the Lions got off seven hits, but great defense and pitching allowed only two runs. Starting pitcher for the Griffins was Lindsay Schaeffer who got the win. Kourtney Von Behren subbed in at the mound for the fifth inning. Morgan Colvis took her first loss of the season (1-1), pitching 3.8 innings, allowing eight hits and all 10 runs.
